Zhiyuan Wang is a painter. He writes: “Two elements comprise the basis of my current series of paintings. One of these is a meaningful mosaic from my childhood. The other one is the marks that I have extracted from drawing lessons taught as a part of the exam-oriented art education in China. In search of my own visual language, I revisit and use these elements as a basis to create an image that connects my own personal experience to the present. I see my painting as a middle point of both learning and releasing, it is also a reflection of both inside and outside experiences.”

Wang’s work has been exhibited in California and across China. He was born in HeBei, China, and lives and works in Beijing, China.
