2019 Artists-in-Residence Exhibition
Every year, the Lucid Art Foundation organizes a group exhibition for the artists-in-residence. In 2020 due to Covid-19, we presented the annual exhibition online. The Foundation hosted nine artists in 2019 from diverse genres. Each artist spent 1-3 weeks at the residency. This exhibition featured one page for each artist’s work along with their biography.

Residency Testimonials
The expansive view of the Inverness ridge, the quiet, the deep solitude, being surrounded on every side by unspoiled nature was immeasurably healing and revitalizing…[the residency experience] formed a kind of force that facilitated creativity and artistic growth. In the course of the three-week stay, I produced artwork that was unexpected and important to my growth. The natural environment supported my intention to do yoga and meditation and make art. I absolutely took away a tangible experience of profound peace and spaciousness…Without a doubt, my artwork practice was productive and grew in scope.

The valley and the ridge of Bishop Pine, the sky, the birds, the fresh air all became part of the energy that I was using in my work…The philosophy of the Foundation permeates the atmosphere of the property like a beautiful invisible vibration. I felt so lucky and so grateful to be in that place for three weeks. The environment gave me an opportunity to find my natural work rhythm…All of the variables worked together to help me produce work that is some of the best I have ever done. Somehow, I was able to tap right into the energy of the place and let it charge my process.

I had an incredible experience at the residency. It was transformational and inspiring…I was able to push the boundaries of my practice to a new level. I found a new flow with my mediation practice and my art practice and how they inform each other. The Bishop Pine Preserve informed my new works and the history and philosophy of the Foundation brought spirit and a new awareness to the meaning of consciousness and art.…the experience felt cleansing and grounding. I felt reinvigorated to create new work…I was able to connect with nature in a new deeper way and further connect my dream life with waking life. Things that had been drifting unresolved had fallen into a new place of alignment and clarity with resolution.

The Bishop Pine Preserve and the Lucid Art Foundation were truly the most incredible space to find inspiration and tap into a creative flow...I find new ideas come when I make the space to just be and the residency was that for me, it was a space to connect to the present moment and be fully with the work I was making….I felt really lucky to get the opportunity to see Gordon’s [Onslow Ford] studio and his work and learn more about the history of the Lucid Art Foundation, which was really inspiring and added deeply to my experience…Allowing myself space and time to play and experiment with my process was really freeing and opened up new possibilities and ways of creating…I found it interesting to lay out multiple pieces and work on them simultaneously…By working this way, I felt the pieces were in conversation and connected with each other rather than separate individual pieces.
